Harmonic contrasts at Martinengo della Motella Palace

An interesting project by interior designer Paola Moretti renovated a private house’s interiors on the piano nobile of Martinengo delle Motella palace in Brescia. Among the town’s most important historical buildings, the palace was erected in the 17th century on the remains of a pre-existing construction dating back two hundred years. Many decorative interventions followed, including renowned frescos from Teosa and Basiletti in the 18th and 19th centuries.

For the bedrooms and the living room, the chosen Society Limonta's textiles, in dusty pastel colours and desaturated neutrals, focus on mixing more traditional fabrics such as froisse linen and extra-fine cotton with high-tech ones such as Talk quilt, warm and light, with a powdery touch.

“I tried to recreate the old days atmosphere – says Paola Moretti – adding contemporary elements and design pieces at a later stage. The choice of the textiles is in line with my whole project: Society Limonta represents the synthesis between tradition and modernity. It combines technology and emotion, in a continuous research of contrasts and harmony; a balance between vintage and vanguard, definitely matching the style of my intervention”.
